LOVESICK
Lovesick is an Italian band formed in Bologna in 2015, driven by the shared passion of Paolo Roberto Pianezza (vocals, guitar, lap steel) and Francesca Alinovi (double bass, vocals). Both draw inspiration from the great roots of American music, crafting a universe where traditional country, western swing, vintage rock’n’roll, and roots sounds intersect. Their artistic chemistry and strong sense of groove shape a sound that is both faithful to tradition and unmistakably contemporary.
Over time, the lineup expanded with the addition of Alessandro Cosentino, bringing violin and percussion into the mix and further enriching their musical palette. On stage, Lovesick stands out for their contagious energy, sharp musicianship, and precise vocal harmonies. Their ability to channel the spirit of rockabilly and swing’s golden era while remaining thoroughly modern appeals to both dedicated roots music fans and younger generations.
The band has toured extensively across Europe and the United States, building a reputation as a must-see live act. They have shared the stage with major international artists such as Ben Harper, Zucchero, and Tommy Emmanuel, performing on prestigious stages before thousands of spectators. This international recognition stems as much from their authenticity as from their technical mastery.
With several albums to their name, including Remember My Name, recorded in Los Angeles in collaboration with renowned musicians from the American scene, Lovesick continues to affirm its artistic ambition: to create a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Their work has also been recognized with a nomination at the Ameripolitan Music Awards in the Western Swing Band category, confirming their place among today’s leading figures on the international roots scene.
Today, Lovesick continues its journey with the same artistic standards: delivering sincere, vibrant, and deeply heartfelt music capable of reviving the spirit of the great pioneers while infusing it with a fresh and personal energy.
