DANA FUCHS
It is no coincidence that Dana Fuchs played the role of Janis Joplin in the musical Love, Janis, for three seasons in New York. Forged through a life full of trials, her deep voice echoes those of Joplin or Etta James. Bursting with raw emotion, the powerful live performances of this raucous and mesmerizing singer draw on blues as well as Southern roots rock.
POPA CHUBBY
Born in the Bronx, raised in the sounds of the New York urban jungle and powered by punk rock energy, Popa Chubby made his mark on the international blues scene in the mid-1990s with the album Booty And The Beast, produced by Tom Dowd (renowned for his work with Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and many others). Since then, his discography has been enriched by dozens of albums of greasy, mature and testosterone-laden rock-blues, the latest of which, Emotional Gangster (DixieFrog), concentrates all the feeling. A proud New York blues flag-bearer, Popa Chubby goes on one sold-out tour after another, inevitably leaving his audience sweating and amazed.

CAROLYN WONDERLAND
Under her humble look and mischievous smile, Carolyn Wonderland is a Texas blues treasure. Trading songs in Houston with the cursed poet Townes Van Zandt; settling in Austin and receiving an invitation of a fan named Bob Dylan; being hired as the tenured guitarist in John Mayall’s band – the «godfather of the British Blues» who had previously revealed the talents of Eric Clapton or Mick Taylor… Carolyn’s adventures in music were punctuated by meetings that many only dream of. Carolyn Wonderland’s appeal is as much due to her dexterity on various instruments (mainly guitar and mandolin) as to her deep cultural understanding: the influences not only of the blues, but also of all the cultural roots of the Gulf of Mexico, make her music bloom. Produced by Dave Alvin, her latest album Tempting Fate (Alligator) reveals a Texas in her image, sensitive and generous.
SUPERSONIC BLUES MACHINE
Under the auspices of Rev. Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), bass player Fabrizio Grossi and drummer Kenny Aronoff – i.e. the former rhythm section of Toto guitarist Steve Lukather – formed the Supersonic Blues Machine. A relentless foundry of rock-blues rhythms conducive to wild guitar solos, the band was joined in the studio by a number of instrumentalists determined to fire on all cylinders, such as Robben Ford, Warren Haynes, Eric Gales or Joe Bonamassa. Supersonic Blues Machine has already electrified Megève in 2019. In 2023, they return with one of UK’s most heavy rock blues guitarists : Kris Barras, a former MMA champion whose approach flirts with hard rock. And as always, with a stellar of guest artists: Joe Louis Walker, Dana Fuchs and King Solomon Hicks!

ANA POPOVIC
Ana Popovic comes from Belgrade, but her talents as a guitar player have quickly allowed her to earn her stripes on the North American scene. She records her albums in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Nashville or Memphis, collaborating with such luminaries as Tony Coleman (B.B. King’s drummer) and fellow guitar slingers Joe Bonamassa, Sonny Landreth or Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Her blues rock licks are fiery, but don’t neglect touches of jazz and funky grooves. Her magnetic stage presence makes each of her live appearances a great guitar moment!
JOE LOUIS WALKER
Seeing Joe Louis Walker back in Megève is an honour and a joy. One of the great bluesmen we are still lucky to have on this planet, Joe Louis is a disciple of Mike Bloomfield and Jimi Hendrix. Raised in the sounds of Rhythm’n’blues, psychedelic rock and gospel, Joe Louis Walker has achieved a sound of his own, praised by eminent experts such as Keith Richards and Johnny Winter. A great guitar stylist and singer, it was in Joe Louis Walker that B.B. King saw one of his most deserving heirs. A rich discography where fruitful musical encounters prevent any routine, live performances full of fervor and intensity: his career runs for a half a century, and Joe Louis Walker is still at the top of the game!

KING SOLOMON HICKS
King Solomon Hicks, from Harlem, is only thirty years old, but he already has many years of experience. Trained in jazz and imbued with the music of Jimi Hendrix, he began performing on stage as a teenager. For many years, his guitar sounds has warmed the most prestigious blues clubs in New York, such as B.B. King’s Blues Club or Terra Blues. In 2021, his first album Harlem (Provogue) enable him to win the « Best emerging artist » award form the Blues Foundation. Witness the emergence of a brand new «King» of the blues in Megève!
